DEE WHY HOUSE & STUDIO

The new house and studio at Dee Why is to replace a small existing house and fibro garage. The clients brief was for a quality residence with a homely “beach cottage feel”. The result is a double storey Hampton’s style beach cottage. The design ensures a feeling of openness with the inclusion of large verandas, balconies and courtyard spaces. There is a rooftop “widow’s walk” terrace which takes advantage of the views out over Dee Why beach to the north and Curl Curl beach to the south. The double fronted site allows for a rear double car garage with a studio “granny flat” above. A private courtyard separates the two dwellings whilst providing a leafy outlook to both dwellings.
